Buddy Griffith - Coach
Buddy Griffith - Coach
Coach Buddy Griffith is a graduate of Cornell High School (97), with Coach Matt Walsh. After high school he attended the College of Wooster where he played 4 years of football for the Fighting Scots.
Buddy began his coaching journey (alongside Coach Frank) in 2018 as an assistant coach on the Cornell Raiders youth football team. After rebuilding the organization’s reputation and rejuvenating the program, Coach Buddy became league President in 2024. He has also coached rec baseball for the past 7 years. In addition, Buddy also runs the Cornell Elementary basketball program (2020). He and Coach Frank (with additional help this year from Coach Walsh) have rebuilt the program in hopes of returning to dominance on the hardwood.
Coach Buddy is relatively new to the AAU scene, but under the tutelage of Coach Walsh the learning curve should be quick. Buddy hopes to bring a tough, gritty, hardnosed style of play to Walsh Elite. His passionate and prideful style resonates with his players in the idea that we can play with anyone on any day. He loves to remind his player “never let anyone push you around in life or on the court (field).” Coach is excited for this opportunity and looks forward to the success and growth of the Walsh Elite program.
